The secret to the Series 50 Blocks' incredible strength is a unique two-stage bearing system. Under light and moderate loads, Acetal ball bearings ensure virtually frictionless rotation of the sheave. Under heavy loads, a sliding Acetal bearing on a polished stainless steel race takes over, maintaining low friction performance and ensures the sheave will continue to rotate properly. Made from durable, light-weight, precision molded UV stabilized Acetal, the cheeks have bearing cut-outs making it easy to flush out sand and salt, and the sheaves have a specialized rope groove that suits all modern fibers and braids.
